The just renovated and newly expanded Virginia Museum of Fine Arts will open May 1 with a new 15,000 square foot special exhibitions space on the lower level, more than tripling the previously allotted space. The new deputy director of exhibitions, Robin Nicholoson, has been busy filling the schedule with exhibitions designed to lure travelers from from miles and miles away. Currently, the museum will launch 10 exhibitions in 10 months after its May 1 grand reopening! The schedule extends into May 2011.
