Attendees are encouraged to bring the entire family and arrive early to secure a seat in the outdoor amphitheatre. Picnicking is also encouraged; however, audiences are reminded that no pets, alcohol or glass containers are allowed at the Dell. The Dell, located at 6000 S. Boulevard, Richmond VA 23220, is a 2.400 seat amphitheater owned by the City of Richmond, which has been home to the summer-long celebration of arts known as the Festival of Arts. Ever popular, Bak N Da Day with their R&B harmonies open at 5PM. Carillon Bell Concert begins at 6:45PM. The Richmond Concert Band follows at 7:15PM with patriotic and popular music. Fireworks begin about 8PM and end the production with a bang! For the latest, call (804) 646-3355.

What’s more American than baseball and fireworks? Richmond’s own Flying Squirrels have scheduled home games at the Diamond to take on the Erie SeaWolves on Thursday July 1, Saturday July 3, and Sunday July 4. Fireworks follow each game presented by AT&T. The Diamond is located at 3001 N Boulevard, just off I95 and I64. More Info. During the game on July 4th, the Squirrels will honor Arthur Ashe and the mentoring program he founded in his hometown. Arthur Ashe Heroes.

So, on this all-American weekend, check out the fireworks, both sites are within 2 miles of Richmond’s finest Bed and Breakfast. We have no vacancy this year, but make your plans for 2011! There’s plenty to do to fill up a few days stay!

Make your plans to enjoy the Fourth of July holiday in Richmond, Virginia. Just down the street to Boulevard and across the bridge over the highway (only about 1 1/2 miles from the William Miller House Bed and Breakfast in Richmond, you’ll find Byrd Park and Dogwood Dell.

Dogwood Dell is a 2,400 seat amphitheatre owned and operated by the Richmond Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Facilities and located in Byrd Park. Since 1956, it has been home to the Festival of Arts; a summer long celebration of the arts featuring art exhibits, concerts, dance and theatre. In addition to these events, the Festival of Arts also incorporates a children’s series with performances at our Ha’ Penny stage. The Festival of Arts offers approximately fifty or more shows which were attended by over 100,000 people last year. With its eclectic mix of old and new, the Festival of Arts has become one of Richmond’s cultural treasures. Throughout June, July, and August, a variety of shows can be enjoyed at the “Dell” including classical music and dance; drama, comedy, and musical theatre; reggae, pop, swing, rhythm and blues, rock, jazz and contemporary music concerts. The Festival of Arts is flavored for every taste. Best of all, the shows are FREE!

And the Fourth of July is something really great – a patriotic extravaganza including music, fireworks and sounds of canons and more!
Bak N Da Day – Rhythm & Blues Harmonies kicks off the show at 5 pm
Carillon Bell Concert is planned for 6:30 pm
The Richmond Concert Band will perform both patriotic and popular music beginning at 7 pm
And, naturally fireworks will follow. What would a Fourth of July celebration be without fireworks?

Come early for a seat in the amphitheatre or bring a blanket to sit in the surrounding park. Bring a picnic and enjoy the summer evening.
